Hawaiin Classroom Transformation DecorationsOur kindergarten team rotated students for Hawaiian center activities. When students came to my classroom, they were ready for an explosive time with our volcano experiment! To prepare for our special day, I decorated my desk with a volcano bulletin board. A tiki totem pole was created with boxes, craft paper, and construction paper, too. The palm tree decoration is just a mail tube with construction paper leaves. The leaves are supported by rulers. I popped in our classroom treasure box and beach balls, and the excitement was there! Volcano Experiment for kINDERGARTEN SCIENCE ACTIVITYI collected some pebbles from our home rock garden, along with a plate and small clear cup to prepare for this experiment. Other items used to actually perform the experiment included the following items: -vinegar -baking soda -red food coloring To do the experiment, I added baking soda and red food coloring to the small cup. Then I added the vinegar to make it "explode" onto the plate. Below is another time we did this experiment in our classroom, as listed in our ALPHABET POEMS, HANDWRITING & LETTER POSTERS pack, from when we studied the letter V. Check out the explosion with this video of the volcano experiement! The students' reactions...I just love it so much!!! ALPHABET POEMS, HANDWRITING, and LETTER POSTERSSide note, here is the pack that contains acitivity suggestions for each letter of the alphabet, along with posters, handwriting worksheets, and phonics poems. You can try the Letter M Pack for FREE! Shark Craft Activity for kindergartenDuring our Hawaiian theme, we were studying the letter Z. To tie it all together, students made "zany" faces to place inside of the sharks' mouths! They most definitely were zany when they saw the finished product! Beach Craft Activity Pack for KindergartenPick up the shark craft here, or get the shark in our discounted Beach Craft Pack, which also includes a palm tree craft and writing prompt, a volcano writing prompt, surfer kids crafts, and pineapple craft activities! Hawaiian Decorations for the HallwayThe teachers placed ocean creatures down the entire hallway, so students were greeted with a sea of fun upon their arrival to school! Students also had Hawaiian table decorations, complete with table runners, coloring sheets, and their own leis. Also included in the photo below is the math partner game students played on Hawaiian Rock Your School Day. To play, students took turns rolling the dice and taking the seashells from the sand to the "water" using tweezers.
