Christmas Tree Craft for Kindergarten with Counting Math Activity
As you decorate for this Christmas, students practice counting lights on their Christmas trees during math class! This is great for a whole group lesson or a math center activity! To get started, instruct students to write a number somewhere between 5-20 on their tree trunks. Then they color the cheeks on the tree red. Cut and glue the three craft pieces. Students bring completed crafts to the teacher for one-on-one guidance with counting and placing the lights to match the numeral they’ve written on tree trunks. You might choose to have students draw lights, use dotter paints, dot with tempera paint, or glue sequins.
