Candy Cane Christmas Craft for Kindergarten
As you read your favorite holiday books this Christmas, create these giant candy canes during morning work, center time, or a whole-group lesson. Start by cutting out the face piece, which has three little decorative lines on it. Color the cheeks red. From there, students cut and glue connecting pieces, noting the number of dots or lines. Starting from the bottom of the candy cane, the piece with one dot connects to the piece with two dots. The face piece has three lines, which connects to pieces two and four. The piece with five lines connects to the four dotted piece. The piece with the six dots connects to the five piece. Students may not need the numbered visuals, but it will help the teacher to assist students. These candy canes make an ADORABLE addition to bulletin boards and holiday programs!
