Turkey Shape Craft, Counting Activity for Thanksgiving, Fall, Farm Math Center
As you implement Thanksgiving lessons and teach students about turkeys, students practice fine motor and visual-spatial skills with this shape turkey craft activity! Students might create the turkey during morning work, center time, indoor recess, or for fast finisher work! Note that preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students enjoy both coloring and painting our crafts, which feature thick lines. Three options, plus a coloring option, are included to best meet the needs of your little learners! You might also attach the craft to a stuffed paper bag. The kids LOVE making "pets" to take home!
During your math lesson, students choose a shape on their turkeys to count. Then the student or teacher writes the number on the short line, along with the shape word on the long line. Example: “I see 6 circles looking at me.
