Germ Kindergarten Arts and Crafts Writing Lesson Activity: Stay Healthy and Stop the Spread of Disease
As you head back to school, teach how to stay healthy with proper hand washing and disease prevention techniques! This is a low-prep, engaging lesson that includes a demonstration activity, book suggestions, germ craft, and writing sheet.
Our kindergarten arts and crafts are downloads you can print at home or school. Each craft includes a cover and a contents page, so you know exactly how to put pieces together. The only supplies you need are paper, scissors, glue, and crayons! Enjoy creating with the kids!
Lesson:
Do a classroom demonstration with a spray bottle filled with water. Pretend to sneeze on your hand as you spray it with the water. (Optional: Then shake a child’s hand. Have the kids pretend to do the same thing with each other.) Then ask him/her how she feels about it. They absolutely love it, and there’s learning happening at the same time, of course! Upon completion of the demonstration, talk about fighting germs. Talk about what a germ might look like in our imagination. Create the craft and complete the writing sheet. Students glue the germ craft to the top of writing sheet for display.
