Jack and Jill Nursery Rhyme Craft with Letter Hunt Literacy Activity
Study the nursery rhyme by creating crafts and going on a hunt for items that pertain to your students' needs, including specific letters, uppercase letters, sight words, spaces between words, rhyming words, etc. These tasks can be easily differentiated.
Students repeat teacher:
“We’re going on a letter hunt” …
“To find the letter s” …
“S, s, s” …
“Let’s find the letter S.” …
As students hunt, instruct them to use different colors to highlight. For example, the letter S will be highlighted in red throughout the rhyme. Choose your next hunt, and instruct them to highlight with orange. Repeat the hunting activities as you see fit for your class.
