The Crayon Box That Talked Kindergarten Arts and Crafts Book Companion Activity
Discuss what students' favorite colors are, and copy crayons on their favorite colors of paper. Students create crayon craft plan. Then practice comprehension skills and connect to text as you read The Crayon Box That Talked by Shane Derolf. Talk with the class about using all of the crayons to make their papers happy. Tell them it is wonderful they have favorite colors, but have them “promise” to use other crayons when they color, too. This will make their pictures look real! Students make their promise by writing the color word in the oval of the craft, and adding the writing sheets to their crafts. Now they are ready to glue it all together!
Our kindergarten arts and crafts are downloads you can print at home or school. Each craft includes a cover and a contents page, so you know exactly how to put pieces together. The only supplies you need are paper, scissors, glue, and crayons! Enjoy creating with the kids!
