Celebrate Christmas with math tied right into the fun!  As you explore Christmas trees, students practice using ornaments as nonstandard units of measurement to measure a tree.  Measure during math centers or a whole-group lesson in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade.  Students might verbally answer measurement questions; you might also compare the measurements during your activity.  To challenge students, they write how many ornaments high/wide objects are on the included sheet.  To prepare, students might color and cut pieces for a fun fine motor and visual-spatial activity during morning work or center time.  Note that a coloring option is included as well.
