Apple Craft | Measuring | Nonstandard Unit of Measurement | Writing Numbers
Celebrate Johnny Appleseed with your apple activities this Fall! As you explore measurement, students practice using apple pies as nonstandard units of measurement to measure an apple craft. Measure during math centers or a whole-group lesson in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade. Students might verbally answer measurement questions; you might also compare the measurements during your activity. To challenge students, they write how many apple pies high/wide objects are on the included sheet. To prepare, students might color and cut pieces for a fun fine motor and visual-spatial activity during morning work or center time. Note that a coloring option is included as well.
