Watermelon Craft, Shape Activity: Summer, Picnic, Barbecue (Kindergarten)
Celebrate Summer picnics as you create 10 watermelon crafts during math centers, a small-group or a whole-group lesson in preschool or kindergarten. Start your lesson by allowing students to choose their shape watermelons. Then students cut and glue the pieces of the printable craft.
Now you’re ready to discuss shapes together! You might have students sort crafts based on their shapes, such as shapes with and without curves, for example. Another idea is to sort by how many sides. Students might come up with their own ways to sort as well!
