Chicken (Hen) Craft, Place Value, Number Sense Activity: Spring, Fall, Farm
As you explore chickens on the farm this Spring or Autumn, practice place value with this kindergarten math activity! During morning work or center time, students create chickens. Three options are included to best meet the needs of your little learners. During math centers, a small-group, or a whole-group math lesson, students add place value eggs. This is a super simple, easily differentiated activity. You might give students blank eggs for them to draw tens sticks and ones cubes and then write numbers on their own. You might also write numbers on the chicken bellies for students to just draw tens sticks and ones cubes. Another option is to give each student one tens stick egg and another ones cube egg for students to write the numbers on the bellies. Put all of the pieces of the printable craft together for a fun fine motor and visual-spatial activity, along with a cute farm bulletin board display!
