Penguin Craft, Place Value Activity for Winter Math In Kindergarten
As you explore penguins this Winter, practice place value with this kindergarten math activity! During morning work or center time, students create penguins. Three options are included to best meet the needs of your little learners. During math centers, a small-group, or a whole-group math lesson, students add place value snowballs. This is a super simple, easily differentiated activity. You might give students blank snowballs for them to draw tens sticks and ones cubes and then write numbers on their own. You might also write numbers on the penguin bellies for students to just draw tens sticks and ones cubes. Another option is to give each student one tens stick snowball and another ones cube snowball for students to write the numbers on the bellies. Put all of the pieces of the printable craft together for a fun fine motor and visual-spatial activity, along with a cute Winter bulletin board display!
