Partner Cards for Pairing Students for Partnership Activities
Use these partner cards for a fun way to match students up throughout the year! There are 5 different partnering pairs to use, including peanut butter and jelly, peas and carrots, bacon and eggs, salt and pepper, and cookies and milk.
For each pair, a colored card is included for you to hang up in the classroom for an extended period of time, perhaps for a month. You might have students who sit on the left side of the tables be the “cookies” and those on the right be the “milks”. This makes distribution of materials for partners quick and easy, as you might call cookies to gather materials and milks to put materials away. Rotate through the five options throughout the year to keep the kids engaged!
Black and white cards are included for each partner set as well. Copy and cut these cards apart so each student has a partner match. Then pass them out and have students find a partner! Note that you might have students color the cards the first time you use them, especially with salt and pepper and peanut butter and jelly since the pictures are similar. If you copy them on cardstock, you will be able to use the cards again and again. Students also enjoy taking them home if you choose to copy them on paper.
