Beginning Sounds Coloring Pages: Color Code Sort for Preschool, Kindergarten
As you explore letters and beginning sounds with your preschool or kindergarten phonics activities, use these worksheets to color code sounds. Each sheet includes two letters and pictures that begin with those two letter sounds. Students sort pictures by color, based on beginning sounds, using two different colors. There are also 7 review pages, where 4 letters and 4 sets of beginning sounds pictures are included.
Two sets of pages are included, one with colors specified, and the other without specified colors. In our classroom, I prefer to let the kids choose their own two colors. They color the crayon below each letter to indicate their choice. This is helpful for when they use dauber paints at our alphabet center as well.
