Butterfly Hat Craft for Bugs, Insects Science Center, Morning Work Activity
This Spring, create ADORABLE butterfly hats! This craft might be created as a part of a whole group lesson or completed at a science center!

Page 3: Butterfly Hat: Head, Antennae
Copy 1 head, antennae per student on white (2 sets per sheet).
Students cut out. Glue antennae to head. Glue head to the middle of a long paper strip (not included). When gluing, plan for butterfly head to be positioned just above the student’s forehead upon completion of the hat.
Page 4, 5: Butterfly Hat: Wings
Copy 1 per student on pink.
Students color inside section purple.
Cut out. Fold on dotted line. Put glue on the large section of the square. Attach to long paper strip (not included) so it will be on the side of the student’s head upon completion of the hat.
Once pieces are glued on the long paper strip, wrap the strip around student’s head to get an approximate measurement before stapling.
