Thanksgiving Arts and Crafts for Kindergarten Math Activity with a Shape Turkey
This Thanksgiving, create shape turkeys during a whole group kindergarten math activity or during math centers! Check out the PREVIEW option on this page to get a glimpse of how the craft turned out in our classroom! We used a slight variation here, attaching the craft to a stuffed paper bag. The kids LOVE making "pets" to take home!
Students cut out body. Students cut out head, and glue to body. Students color snood red, and cut out eyes and snood. (Note that you might enlarge this copy a bit for young learners, or a teacher might help some with cutting out the snood.) Students cut out feathers, legs, and beak. Glue eyes on head. Glue beak and snood to head. Glue legs to back of hexagon. Student chooses a shape to count. Student or teacher writes number on the short line and shape word on the long line. Example: “I see 7 circles looking at me.
