Interrupting Chicken Kindergarten Arts and Crafts Writing Lesson Activity
After you read Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein, practice comprehension skills and connect to text when you complete the craft. During guidance time, talk about strategies to avoid interrupting (raising hand, putting a bubble in your mouth, etc.). Talk about being respectful listeners and what that looks like (eyes on speaker, quiet mouth, etc.). Ask students to share times when it’s important to be listeners (during story time, when a teacher is giving directions, when a friend is sharing a story, etc.). During writing time, students draw or draw and write their responses. Three drawing/writing options are included. Attach a standard sheet of construction paper behind writing to add a frame. Attach the completed craft to frame for an adorable display!
Our kindergarten arts and crafts are downloads you can print at home or school. Each craft includes a cover and a contents page, so you know exactly how to put pieces together. The only supplies you need are paper, scissors, glue, and crayons! Enjoy creating with the kids!
