Too Tall Houses Kindergarten Arts and Crafts Writing Lesson Activity
After reading Too Tall Houses by Dianna Marino, practice comprehension skills, and connect to the text as you complete the rabbit and owl crafts. During guidance, discuss what happens in the book. Talk about how the houses were destroyed and how the friends worked together to accomplish something. Connect it to a classroom STEM project. Have students work as individuals try to build the tallest house with materials; then have them share materials and work together to build. During writing, students write about strategies of working together, why it is important, and/or how sharing builds friendships.
Our kindergarten arts and crafts are downloads you can print at home or school. Each craft includes a cover and a contents page, so you know exactly how to put pieces together. The only supplies you need are paper, scissors, glue, and crayons! Enjoy creating with the kids!
