ABout

In the age of iPads, tablets, and all things screen, how on earth can we engage our littlest learners?  Craft time!  Not exactly the Pinterest crafter? With our crafts, you don't have to be! That's was AMAZING about our products! We create EASY crafts for kids!  No matter what you decide to craft with us, our products are guaranteed not to show up on the FAIL list.  But enough about you, this is about the kids! We are on a mission to reach all little learners, providing them with engaging, hands-on learning opportunities to practice spatial awareness skills while learning across the curriculum. Our crafts incorporate math, science, social studies, character education, letter learning, writing, and reading comprehension!  Products include consistent layouts and are easy for students to understand and follow directions.  They are low prep, saving the precious time you need with your kids!
Fun fact: our customers often note that our educational crafts are GREAT for subs!  Shoot, I just made this about you again, didn't I??  Okay, it kind of is because here's the thing...I love that each of our crafts are priced at just $4 or less.  (They can be purchased in discounted bundles at 30% OFF OR MORE EVERY DAY!)  Book suggestions are listed on each of the contents sections in our SHOP pages. If you don't have the books in your personal library, you can pick books up at your local library, purchase them up on Amazon, or...my personal favorite, look up online stories from youtube!
When you craft with our products, your kids won't even realize all of the learning involved.  They will view it as time well-spent using their creative energy.  They will be engaged.  They will get excited about learning!  And that's what we're here to do.
We're changing the way little learners feel about learning.

Who We Are

My husband and I were high school sweet hearts who attended the same college. We moved back to our little hometown in Ohio, where we are raising our three boys. Being a #boymom has taught me so much about how to be a better teacher, about how to think outside of the box to engage those little minds. These boys are the reason my heart has led me to push for avenues for success for all learners. They are our everything, and when they succeed, we succeed right alongside of them.
So you know that #parentguilt you feel when you discover that your child's little buddy, Jimmy, identifies all 26 letters of the alphabet, writes his name, and counts to 100, all while your little sweetheart barely recognizes the letters in his name? I have felt that guilt, and as a teacher, I have also been a witness to that same parent guilt far too many times.
I have also spent over a decade teaching kindergarten, knowing whole-heartedly, within days of starting a new school year, that certain students were just not ready to be in my class. What was worse was watching their enthusiasm for school quickly fade, resulting in aggressive behavior and a serious lack of self-confidence. No matter how much I poured into these children, the fact was, that I couldn't possibly pour years of preparation into these kids in order to quickly catch them up with peers. I felt #teacherguilt, seeing that the rigor was taking a toll on them, yet also knowing it was my job to teach all of the students in the class the kindergarten curriculum. And when the year was over, I watched those same students struggle in 1st grade, 2nd grade, and it just didn't end. School continued to take a toll on "my" little kids, and the guilt stayed with me. I knew they weren't ready from the start; I felt helpless.

After implementing all-day kindergarten in our home district for just 2 years, it became clear to our very driven team that extra support was needed. Young students, that is, students with "young" birthdays in our classes, were just not ready for the rigor that an all-day experience presented, and Begindergarten was finally born. My mission has become to help my babies grow in our Begindergarten classroom, a classroom for young learners to begin their school experience at a pace that's best suited for them. When students leave my classroom, now with "older" birthdays, they are naturally better acclimated with school materials and concepts, therefore gaining more attention from their teachers and peers from day one of kindergarten. This only compounds throughout their kindergarten year and flows over into first grade. My former Begindergarten students notice the attention they receive, along with the positive reinforcement, and that it only keeps getting better. This is all because of ONE thing: Success breeds more success. When our children are successful in that first key year of school, guess what? They get more attention from their teachers, they start believing they are smart, they start believing that they can win at school.
So what you see here is my mission coming to life. With my husband's never-ending support and our own little boys' educational endeavors driving us to help better other young learners throughout the world, Krazy for Kindyland has come to be. We hope to engage children with hands-on learning experiences by crafting and creating, all while building their confidence, ensuring academic success for years to come.

Where It All Began

I started creating crafts for students in preschool and kindergarten classrooms 14 years ago in efforts to engage all students with hands-on learning opportunities.  (Check out our gallery below to catch a glimpse of how some of our products have turned out in our classroom, along with a few fun craft ideas for at home!)  Once I realized how much my teacher colleagues and friends with little ones at home enjoyed crafting with their students and children, too, Krazy for Kindyland came to life.  Grab some crayons, glue, and a pair of scissors, and start crafting and learning together!

Let's Learn Those Letters!

And another question parents often ask is, "How do I teach my child letters?"  New kindergarten teachers ask me how to get started.  After over a decade of teaching kindergarten, I finally packed our go-to for learning letters and sounds into one download.  This packet includes a daily handwriting worksheet, along with fine motor activities, youtube suggestions, and snack ideas for each letter.  Make it apart of your routine, and your little baby doll will be ready to rock and roll in kindergarten!  Grab your download below.
